Our First Child to get Married!!!
Dan remarked this week that we have been so preoccupied with thinking about Charlie leaving for college (only being a year and a half from graduation) that while we weren't looking we added sweet Tara to our family!!!! What a joy it is to welcome her to our family! What a blessing when your child marries a wonderful Christian woman who is his soulmate! I always tell my children that there are many things you can mess up in your lives but if you marry the wrong person you will be in for a world of hurt. We praise God for His provision of Tara for Jeremy. The wededing brought both glory and honor to God! We are so grateful to the Vandepol's for all that they did to make it memorable!!! Mick was truly a best man too!!! Jeremy and Tara we hope you are pleased.... it was an amazing slice ot time of us!
We found that having a child get married is pretty heady stuff! We are still basking in the glow over a week later! Tara and Jeremy's special day was indeed special for all the family and friends that came so far. It had their personalities written all over it and they had a way of including young and old in the day of celebration. Our family loved being together (that was a huge highlight for us since we are now so far-flung) Hannah came the farest (all the way from Rome- she is on her year long trip around the world) with Abby and Ben (Abby's boyfriend) driving in from Arkansas, Dan, Charlie and I from WY, my parents from Wisconsin, the Westerman grandparents and family from Minnnesota. There was also Jeremy's Godfather and his daughter (Loren and Merver Gary) who came from Boston who was Dad Chuck's dear friend form Dartmouth! My cousin Brad's son Daniel and his friend Micah, alos came from Boston to join the the festivities. They knew both Hannah and Jeremy three summers ago on Nantucket Island when the kids worked for my cousin Phillip for his landscaping business. Then there was a passel of Kirkbrides! Both of Dan's brothers and wives, Dad K. and even cousin Anduin who now lives in ND. Our dear friends the Ellis's and the Kaufman's ventered out to be with us! Jeremy had friends from Chugwater Josh Kaufman, Coy Fischer and Daniel Caster (with his wife Trista) come be a part and stand up with him. We were greatly honored by all who made such big efforts to share in our lives!!!
There were many great gatherings leading up to the wedding itself. Abby's Ben documented them all beautifully in his professional pictures but these are mine for what they are worth.
