Grandpa Ken eating Charlie's 20th b'day pie... a little bit of grace
I find myself with friends all around suffering things that I can hardly bear to even think of....
* Co-worker with stage three cancer after beginning her job with us in October
* A Friend with reoccurring and long term ovarian cancer having a second surgery and soon to start chemo for the second time
* My brother, Brian, losing his best friend Sherri to MS after a terrible struggle in September
* Church friend with husband having done his second major heart surgery and now on dialysis
* Former pastor grieving the loss of his wife of 35+ years
* Friend left with three young children after her husband age 38 died last summer of stomach cancer
* Hannah's co-worker, Faye, died at 24 of a deep vein thrombosis in Afghanistan
* Former pastor's wife fighting an ongoing year long battle with cancer
* Niece's family left with two family members still recovering from a terrible car accident last August and the Grandfather still struggling all these months later
* High School friend who's son was found dead in his apartment last week while is sister is receiving chemo treatments
* Our own Dad Kirkbride in the hospital with a bad heart and bad lungs... able to talk and converse but not walk or live without serious oxygen
We live in a fallen world with suffering abounding. This side of heaven there are things that we will never understand. May God wrap His arms around each of these people and all those giving the care and support that only the God of the universe can give.... May this Scripture bring you comfort and perspective. "Be of sober spirit, be on the alert Your adversary, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.
9 But resist him, firm in your faith, knowing that the same experiences of suffering are being accomplished by your brethren who are in the world.
10After you have suffered for a little while, the God of all grace, who called you to His eternal glory in Christ, will Himself perfect, confirm, strengthen and establish you. 11 To Him be dominion forever and ever. Amen. " I Peter 5:8-11
