Still Working Out What it Means to Be Saved By Grace

We might be mid-life but we are still
trying to discover the depths of faith, family and how we are to be
Christ-agents in this world in which we live. We are open to explore, ponder and
discover how God will use us in this phase of our lives. We desire to refine and
adjust ourselves while we reconnect to our pasts and make this transition to the
future. It isn't really about the destination but more about the journey....We
use each of you to sharpen us and hone us to be the people that God intended for
us to be. Will you share the journey with us? We love your comments!

A Final Farewell

The Heavenlies tell that he is home... The H & K Brand.... How he helped us grow!

Dad (Ken) Kirkbride died on March 28th. We held his memorial service on April 1st. The burial was resplendent with a Spring blizzard... Dad would have loved it.... complete with horizontal snow and thunder and lightening in all the right places to emphasize the Scriptures being read. The memorial which followed was complete with his three sons speaking, Abby reading Scripture, a slide show of his life and my two songs. Rev. Trudy talked of the many "Ken-isms" that he used.
A fine honor and tribute to a wonderful man....

Notables:
* The thunder and lightening at the graveside
* The 400 people who attended the memorial despite the storm
* The strong and genuine words of tribute and honor extended to the family
* The grandchildren who played with abandon at the reception... life goes on
* The legacy of family present this day
* Dad's beloved Torrington Livestock jacket front and center * H & K Brand floral arrangement
* BEEF, of course, for lunch complete with his favorite ICE CREAM SUNDAES
* The sunset as we drove home where it seemed God was saying "He's home now with me..."

Thanks so much for these pictures! It helps it seem more real. I especially liked to see the front of the church with Grandpa's Torrington Livestock Co. coat on display. It looks like a fitting send off for him.

Where did you take that picture of the sunset? On the overpass coming from Uncle Jon's house?
