Still Working Out What it Means to Be Saved By Grace

We might be mid-life but we are still
trying to discover the depths of faith, family and how we are to be
Christ-agents in this world in which we live. We are open to explore, ponder and
discover how God will use us in this phase of our lives. We desire to refine and
adjust ourselves while we reconnect to our pasts and make this transition to the
future. It isn't really about the destination but more about the journey....We
use each of you to sharpen us and hone us to be the people that God intended for
us to be. Will you share the journey with us? We love your comments!

Father's Day Salute

Father's Day 2010: Frisbee Golf, anyone?

I want to acknowledge Father's Day... even if I am one day late.

Dan Kirkbride is first!

Not many men would take on three little wildy boys and make them his own. Not many would have the maturity or emotional and physical resources to make a commitment like that. Dan did all those 17 years years ago and never wavered in his decision. He rescued the boys from living lives with no earthly father. He has provided them with his example of how to be a man of God in an earthly sense. Dan is a man's man and he showed our boys how to be men and how to be comfortable in their skin. He models integrity, respect for others and hard work. He loves them even when they mess up. He never gives up! Besides that he loved me so that I could love all those kids.....How can I ever express my gratitude for a man of such character and value?!?!

Dad Kirkbride is second!

This is Dan's first Father's Day without his Dad.... a hard first and yet Ken's hand print is everywhere in our lives and on our ranch. He laid the foundation for the man I married and he was a great supporter of our wild and busy large and unconventional family. Family meant the world to him. He valued that in every way... with his time and his resources. He left a family legacy in every sense of the word. Oh, how we miss him!

Don Johnston... my Dad, is not to be forgotten!

Great provider and constant in our family all through the years. He took on two adopted children as well and loved and raised them as his own! He didn't have to do that but he did and I am so grateful! He has been through some tough stuff with us... Brian's accident, me losing my first husband to cancer but he has been there through it all. He has cared for my Mother through all her health issues too. We can't forget that he served us nobly in WWII! He was there in the thick of it on D'Day! He sacrificed for our freedom....

Awesome Dad's! Happy Day! I love you each!
