Miracle Maggie HerselfHard to believe that almost a month has flown by without me posting something... so much for good intentions!?!? I did fly to Wisconsin because Grandma Maggie (my Mother) had her second hip replaced and I was gone for eight days. I forgot my camera... bummer... so the picture of her is from last summer at the ranch when they were here for Abby and Ben's wedding.
Maggie wasn't too thrilled about going to a rehab center for her rehab but once she got on board with program we saw her old spark come forth and she did amazingly well!!! Despite that the hip she had replaced was on the same side as her knee replacement (that didn't take very well) and the side she was most affected by a stroke several years ago, she worked hard with a great PT named Eric and he got her going. A lot of prayer helped too!!! Daddo was a great support!!! He was there at the center multiple times each day keeping Maggie in clean clothes and offering her a great cheering section!!! Brian called daily and many friends came to visit and brought flowers, cards etc.!!! So I am happy to report that she is HOME! Daddo is having their former tub made into a walk-in shower which will be much easier for Maggie to get in and out of. Daddo had to remove all the old tile...no small job. So great progress has been made and Maggie is having a lot less pain than before. So if you see a smart 5 foot lady dashing by your front window you will know it is Miracle Maggie... maybe this has the making for a new YouTube!?!?! Smile...
I got to visit Uncle Beej as well... he continues to amaze me by all he can do! He has a good friend named Sherri and she has MS which has gotten progressively worse in the past 8 months to where she has to use a motorized wheelchair (wc) now. Beej has helped her make this transition with his support and many of his amazing inventions... they are all over her house. A bed frame and trapeize to get in and out of bed, a 29 hook coat rack to hang all her jackets on at wc height... to name a few. Sherri can't say enough good things about Brian!!!
Sherri also has a great little dog named Finex who adores Brian and comes to visit on a regular basis for sleep overs. She is loving, gentle and very loyal to both Sherri and Beej. She is wonderful but scared of the rain of which they have had alot!!! They got over 16 inches in one week right while I was there so much that it flooded the whole town of Pewaukee. So you might say them all a prayer. Beej has some property that he is trying to sell too so keep him in your prayers!!! Beej- it was great to see you and hang out a bit!!!
Love to all of my family in Wisconsin. Dan did indeed marry a "little Wisconsin girl"....
