Charlie, Dan and I headed to Sioux Falls for Paul and Amy's wedding but really that was an excuse to go and visit Jeremy,Tara and Gus. We had a great time and it was very good for us to get away from all the insistent demands of our lives. Dan has had a grueling spring and now is fighting water problems daily in one of his pastures. I have been putting on graduations, packing children and developing a new Business Leadership Network in Sheridan/Buffalo, WY. So this was as much of a vacation as we will get this summer but Tara and Jer showed us a grand time!Gus of course!
The DOG Park!
There was a fierce family mini golf tourney(some traditions live on). I had them on the front nine... but Jer pulled up to win with Dan and I tying for second. It is quite fun that I now pose a threat!!! We saw Jer's new office, took a family walk with Gus, Jer smoked us a pork tenderloin and taught us to play Blanco in their wonderful back yard (nice fence, Dan! and mature trees too) Of course, there was a fierce game of Settlers. Big Jer was even there to play. But Jeremy managed to take that one as well. We had time with Vandepols for a yummy Sunday noon lunch and later a trip to the dog park where dogs run free and owners dicuss the fine points of thier muts! We also did the new Narnia movie: Prince Caspian. Very well done and we loved all the themes woven in and out. So our time with Tara, Jer and Gus left our hearts full to overflowing!

Blanco- the new game
They invited us in to their home in a most gracious manner and were anxious for us to experience some of their lives. I continue to be impressed by the high quality of Christian friends that they run with, they love and care for their home so much (Tara is a wonderful little decorater and Jer is a good help), they serve God in their jobs and are a big source of encouragment to their many friends.
The Golfers Deluxe!
J and T are wrestling with what God has in store for their future. We had some good discussions. Maybe a little Culinary School, maybe a return to the ranch (hooray!) but they are thoughtful and prayerful about it all. As a parent it is heartwarming to see your children doing so well! It is really fun to relate to them as adults now and not only in the parent role. I like these adult children of mine and spending time with them is one of the greatest pleasures in life! Thanks, Tara Lee, Jeremy Brian and Gusterfarve for a great visit and time of relaxation!Still Newlyweds!

we loved having you! it's sunday...last week we were preparing to head over to my parents house. jeremy headed to wyoba yesterday and it's hard for gus and i (me) to gear up for a week without him. traci and i had a sleepover last night :) it's good to have so many great friends here - josh k. and/or mick get super protective when jer's out of town (so endearing). well, gus and i are going to get ready for sunday brunch at the vp house. miss you. hope the unpacking goes smoothly. i would've loved to have been there to help organize! thanks again for the sweet blog. xoxo
