Some Great Fish and Chips!
Now we our on the mainland of Australia! HEK (Hannah) Travels had us get a second rental car right when we got off of the plane so we could begin our drive down the Great Ocean Road. Dan was quite nervous about getting out of Melbourne (a city of 3 and a half millon) driving on the left side but he did great! Hannah printed off internet directions but somehow they didn't make sense getting out of the rental lot so we tried using the rental car GPS sytem which was a BIG mistake. It cost us an hour and a half and we drove the best part of the GOR in the dark. I am still bitter.... I adore the ocean! Nonetheless, we stopped at the Splint Point Lighthouse as HEK directed and even ate fresh fish and chips at the little "takeaway" restaurant the Han directed us too 10 minutes before they closed. Hence the meal in the car. She and two of her JBU friends that live here did this same route with her on her travels. So it was great fun doing this leg of our trip knowing Hannah had been here and exprienced it as well! She was with us each step of the way!
Then it was on to the Kookaburra Cottages which is the most unique place we have ever stayed. We got there late and left by 8:15 the next morning so we didn't do it justice although we had a short walk on one of the most scenic beaches ever and a chat with the hippie throw back owner, Leslie (60 years old) who also has an organic farm 0f 280 acres. It is complete with a small herd of shetland ponies, cats and lovely cockatoo bird who was 85 years old! Leslie has created a fairy kingdom of gardens at this place. Wish you could have seen it. Hannah noticed it on her travels and thought it would be a treat and it was. The shower was a waterfall shower and gave you a great bathing experience!!! A Room with a View!

I relucantly left but we started down the Great Ocean Road and was not to be disappointed by some of the most spectualar scenery of all and believe me we have seen some amazing places.... the pictures will speak for themselves.... The 12 Apostles was totally STUNNING!!!! One can't take a bad photo here... Then a bit further down the road was the Loch Ard Gorge which had the most lovely assortment of colors throughout the rock.... I didn't know which angle to shoot from first.

We finally left and drove back to the airport rental by four thirty....driving over 300 miles on the left on the most twisty road ever!!! Dan was so relieved!!! The Lord was good to us.... His creation is outstanding and provision complete. Our hearts well full to overflowing this day! Hope you enjoyed a little slice too!

Thanks for all the pictures! I'm sure that was a significant part of your trip (making memories through photographing your beautiful experiences)! Jeremy and I are in our big streak of working our jobs during the day and catering at night. We'll be excited to come to you for Christmas for rest, good conversaiton, company, and food!
